The Sensory Lab
A place for curiosity, experimentation, and ideas in progress.

The Whole Sensing Body
The Sensory Lab is a place for exploring how we experience ourselves, one another, and the world around us—not only through thought, but through the whole sensing body. I’m interested in the physical, emotional, mental, relational, and environmental layers of our lives, and in how they continually shape one another.

Through essays, sensory pauses, encounters with nature, and small experiments in attention, I explore questions such as: How do we learn to recognize and support what we need? How do other people, living beings, objects, and environments support us? And what can we discover by becoming more attentive to our inner experience—a capacity sometimes called interoception?

I think of this as Curated Experimentation: following what catches my attention, looking more closely, and sharing some of what I find. This is not a prescription for wellness or a set of answers from an expert. It is an invitation to become curious about the less-visible layers of our experience—and to explore what becomes possible when we restore our capacity to perceive.

Let’s see what we find. And find what we see.
In The Lab
A growing collection of experiments, observations, and explorations shaped by curiosity, attention, and connection.
Environment
Experiments in Space
How might the spaces around us support rest, attention, and a sense of settling?
Sensory Support
Experiments in Objects
How might simple objects, weight, texture, and placement create opportunities to pause and attend?
Attention
Experiments in Noticing
What happens when we notice something we might otherwise pass by—and stay curious about what happens next?
